Mike Winkelmann, known professionally as Beeple or Beeple Crap is an American digital artist, graphic designer, and animator. He widely knew for using various mediums to create comical, phantasmagoric works that make political, social commentary while using pop culture figures as references.
In his “Everydays” series, Everydays: The First 5000 Days, sold for $69.34 million on March 11, 2021. It is the collage of images of his artwork that he created every single day from 2007 till now. Now, it is the third most expensive artwork by a living artist. Christie’s sold this digital NFT artwork.
As per Christie’s, the winner has to pay all the sales amount in Ether to purchase this digital artwork. Beeple created and digitally signed this artwork on Ethereum.
One of Beeple’s NFT art “Crossroads” was designed so that it would change into one of two animations depending on who would win the 2020 presidential election in the United States. It was Sold for $66,666.66 initially and then resold for $6.6M in Feb 2021 on the Nifty gateway.
