Newegg is one of the leading tech-focused e-retailers in North America. Celebrating #DogeDay they announced that Newegg accepts Dogecoin as an official payment method on Newegg.com.
In July 2014, Newegg Company was the first significant e-retailers to accept payment in bitcoin for a purchaser.
Newegg announced Tuesday that the company added the option through the crypto payment platform Bitpay. Customers can complete the transaction using Dogecoin held in their digital wallet.
The Firm introduced a new feature in conjunction with Doge Day. According to online reports, Dogecoin advocates apparently hope to see the coin’s value hit $1 today.
Newegg senior brand manager Andrew Choi said that the growing momentum around cryptocurrency is “undeniable”. “The recent surge in Dogecoin value underscores the need to make it easier for customers to make purchases with this popular cryptocurrency,” he noted.

“We’re committed to making it easy for our customers to shop however works best for them, and that means letting them complete transactions with the payment method that suits them best. To that end, we’re happy to give Dogecoin fans an easy way to shop online for tech,” said Andrew Choi, Sr. Brand Manager of Newegg, in a statement.
Newegg was founded in 2001 by Taiwan-born American entrepreneur Fred Chang, in Los Angeles. Initially debuting the feature in the United States, the firm subsequently expanded the payment option to more than 70 countries.
