Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has donated 500 ETH & 50 trillion SHIB worth over $1 billion in cryptocurrency to India COVID-19 relief fund and non-profit firm battling the country’s aggressive second wave.
An enormous portion of Buterins donation made utilizing a large amount of dog-themed ‘meme coins’. The creators of the Shiba Inu coin (SHIB), Dgelon (Elon), and Akita Inu (AKITA) gifted these coins to Vitalik Buterin.
Buterin’s donation comes soon after becoming the world’s youngest cryptocurrency billionaire less than two weeks ago. A donation was one of the greatest ever made by any cryptocurrency personality.
Indian tech entrepreneur Sandeep Nailwal, co-founder and COO of polygon, set up The COVID Relief Fund. In April, Buterin donated about $600,000 in ether to the India COVID Relief fund.
Buterin Donated 50 trillion SHIB tokens worth around $1.2 billion to the Indian Covid Relief fund founded by entrepreneur Sandeep Nailwal.
Nailwal thanks to Buterin on Twitter. He said one thing we have learned from Ethereum and Vitalik was the importance of Community. Nailwal said, “we will not do anything which hurts any community, especially the retail community involved with SHIB.”
“We will act responsibly,” said Nailwal.
