Coinbase announced its own Coinbase wallet extension for Coinbase wallet. It will enable users to connect more securely to the decentralized app(dapps) and Decentralized finance (DeFi) on desktop. From any browser, users can easily link their wallets to Dapps.
Millions of Coinbase wallet customers regularly utilize dapps like uniswap and compound. However, apps on desktops require users to scan QR codes using their phones every time they connect these apps. This process is tedious and takes a lot of time. Therefore, to improve user experience, Coinbase launched a browser extension of the wallet.
The company said this will save users from installation processes like copying, pasting private keys, scanning QR codes, and much more. With this new extension, the wallet’s private keys are encrypted utilizing a secure enclave or Keystore of phone, protected with a PIN. Users have to confirm transactions on a mobile phone every time they initiate transactions. It ensures its high level of security.
Utilizing this Coinbase Wallet extension is similar to access and using dapps on a desktop. The extension allows instant access to dapps on the desktop after linking your wallet account. This includes accessing thousands of cryptocurrencies, trading on Decentralized exchanges, earning interest, and collecting NFTs. The Coinbase extension is currently available on Google Chrome.
