Tim Berners Lee, World Wide Web creator, defended his decision to auction NFT representing the source code to the web. The auction house Sotheby’s has organized the auction of the original code of the World Wide Web created by British computer scientist Tim Berners Lee. The NFT includes the original 9555 line source code in an animated display.
Speaking to the Guardian, Berners Lee said, “This is total with the values of the web.”The questions I’ve got they said ‘oh, that doesn’t sound like the free and open web
The Berners arguing with Guardian, “just as free and just as open as it always was. The core code and protocols on the web are royalty free, just as they always have been. I’m not selling the web – You won’t have to start paying money to follow links.”
The NFT that Berners Lee is auctioning at Sotheby’s is titled as “The Changes Everything” changed everything translated into Spanish. The lines of code include Hypertext Markup language (HTML), Hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP), and Uniform Resource Identifiers (URIs). The auction at Sotheby’s between June 23 and 30. The auction house will start the bid from 1000 dollars.

Tim Berners Lee also said “I’m not even selling the source code. I’m selling picture that I made, with python programme that I wrote myself, of what the source code would look life if I was struck on the wall and signed by me.”
The Berners lee has openly embraced the cryptocurrency community’s underlying technology. He created his own project, “Solid”, which aims to decentralize the web. It’s an open-source privacy platform through solid pod you can share anybody else in the world.
