Crypto exchange FTX partners with National Football League star quarterback Tom Brady and his wife, Brazilian model Gisele Bundchen in a long-term deal. Both will have an equity stake in FTX Trading Ltd., the company behind sam Bankman-Fried’s FTX.COM and FTX.US.
The couple will receive crypto as part of the deal that makes Tom brandy an Ambassador of FTX and Gisele as FTX’s Environmental & Social initiatives adviser, said in a press release. The financial terms of the partnership with Bankman-Fried’s exchange company weren’t disclosed. FTX subsidiary Blockfolio is also involved in the package.
NFL star Tom Brandy said, “This particular opportunity showed us the importance of educating people about the power of crypto while simultaneously giving back to our communities and planet. We have the chance to create something really special here, and I can’t wait to see what we’re able to do together.”
“They have already opened their Blockfolio accounts to invest and trade the cryptocurrencies of their choice,” FTX said in the statement. FTX will guide the couple on education on this nascent asset class.
“It was fascinating getting to know more about the crypto universe!” Bundchen said during the partnership announcement. “Cryptocurrency will become more and more familiar to all of us as time goes on. What attracted me most about this partnership was the potential to apply resources to help regenerate the Earth, and enable people to lead better lives,” The model said.
FTX.US, Tom, and Gisele have already committed to providing an annual “Multi-million contribution to charity duration of the partnership.” The world-renowned model Bundchen will play an important role in helping to reduce FTX’s carbon footprint, promoting equality and diversity.
FTX, founded by 29-year-old Bankman-Fried, has become one of the world’s largest crypto exchanges since its launch. He concluded, “I’m excited to announce our long-term partnership and believe their support will be huge in helping us achieve our goals.”
Brady has always been a supporter of the crypto industry. He also put “laser eyes” profile picture in his Twitter account in support of Bitcoin. Though he admitted that it might not have been a good idea. In April, he announced his own NFT platform. Seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady hinted that he invested in the world’s largest cryptocurrency, BTC.
