On Saturday, AAVE founder Stani Kulechov tweeted to his 90k followers that his protocol should build “Twitter on Ethereum”. Kulechov tweeted this after Jack’s announcement of a new Bitcoin (BTC)-centric financial services platform similar to Aave.
Dorsey tweeted Thursday that Square Inc., his mobile payment company, was creating a new business “focused on building an open developer platform with the sole goal of making it easy to create non-custodial, permissionless, and decentralized financial services.”
In his response, Kulechov inferred that Jack’s idea is similar to AAVE. While it’s not entirely clear whether Kulechov’s Twitter-on-Ethereum plan is serious. He said Aave co-founder Jordan Lazaro Gustave would lead the effort.
Kulechov said that users will be able to monetize the content they post and govern the rules of the network.
“We believe that content creators should own their audiences in a permissionless fashion, where anyone can build new user experiences by using the same on-chain social graph and data,” Kulechov said.
