Ethereum network co-founder Anthony Di Iorio has said he’s leaving the Cryptocurrency world, expressing concerns over his personal safety.
“I don’t feel necessary safe in this space. If I was focused on larger problems, I think I’d be safer,” said Di Iorio, according to a Bloomberg report.
“It’s got a risk profile that I am not too enthused about,” said Di Iorio, who declined to disclose his cryptocurrency holding or net worth.
In 2016, the 48 years old Canadian entrepreneur founded blockchain company Decentral, which operates Jaxx Liberty. Jaxx Liberty is a multi-platform cryptocurrency wallet that boasts a user base of more than one million.
According to a report, Di Iorio is planning to sell the company in coming weeks for fiat currency. The Decentral Inc is an innovation hub and software development firm based in Toronto.
Since 2017, Di Iorio has traveled with a security team. In 2018, Forbes estimated his net worth as high as US$1 billion. They featured Di Iorio in its crypto-rich list for the year.
Di Iorio estimates that the startup will be valued at “hundreds of millions”. He expects to sell the company for fiat or equity in another company – not in crypto.

“I want to diversify to not being a crypto guy, but being a guy tackling complex problems,” Di Iorio said.
Currently, Di Iorio joined Project Arrow, which is run by a high-school friend, who’s building a zero-emission vehicle. He, however, said, “I will incorporate crypto when needed, but a lot of times, it’s not. It’s really a small percentage of what the world needs.”
Back in 2013, Di Iorio along with Charles Hoskinson, Vitalik Buterin, Gavin wood, created the Ehtereum network. Today, Ether- the native token of the network – has a market value of about $225 billion.
