There’s a certain heat rising between US Lawmakers and Chinese Officials following the Republican Senators’ notice to the USOPC regarding digital Yuan. On 20th July, Republican Senators issued a notice to the Olympic committee regarding a possible threat of spying. China responds back to the US Senators with “Stop Making Trouble”.
The lawmakers’ actions only revealed their ignorance, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian told reporters at a regular press briefing Tuesday in Beijing. calling on American politicians to “respect the spirit stipulated in the Olympic Charter,” Lijian called on them to “stop making sports a political issue and stop creating problems with the digital currency in China,” the South reported, China Morning Post.

“We suggest they figure out what a digital currency really is,” he said. “The US politicians should abide by the spirit stipulated in the Olympic Charter, stop making sports a political matter and stop making troubles out of the digital currency in China.”
Earlier this week, in a letter to U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee board chair Susanne Lyons, the senators urged officials to prevent U.S. athletes from using or accepting digital yuan, given their allegation that it can be “tracked and traced” by the People’s Bank of China, or PBoC.
