Acting Director Michael Mosier of the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) stated today that he will leave FinCEN.
Himamauli “Him” Das, a national security expert with experience in the White House, National Security Council and Treasury and State Departments, will be the new Acting Director of FinCEN, the unit said Tuesday.
“It is an honour to return to the Department of the Treasury as acting head of FinCEN” Him Das said. “I’m excited to lead this institution and prioritise the implementation of the broad Anti-Money Laundering Act of 2020” he added
“We are appreciative of Michael’s service and consider ourselves fortunate” Deputy Secretary Wally Adeyemo stated.
“It has been a tremendous honour to serve as acting director of FinCEN, and I will be eternally grateful,” Michael Mosier said.

Das has aided in the development of novel technologies to assist banks and financial services organisations. Das was previously a counsellor to the General Counsel, Assistant General Counsel for International Affairs and many more. He also worked as Deputy Legal Advisor at the National Security Council and as an attorney at the State Department. He also contributed to the development of domestic and international framework to combat terrorist financing and the USA PATRIOT Act.
The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) is a component of the United States Treasury Department that collects and analyses financial transaction data. It works by combating money laundering, terrorist financing, and other financial crimes on a domestic and international level.
