In Brief:
- Audius has been chosen by TikTok to power its new ‘Sounds’ library.
- Artists will now be able to upload original music in the form of “TikTok Sounds.”
Audius, a music streaming company based on Ethereum and Solana blockchains, has partnered with TikTok to produce “TikTok Sounds”. TikTok is used by many of today’s young social media users to discover new music. Musicians who use the Audius app can now share their work in the “TikTok Sounds” area.
Audius co-founder and chief product officer, Forrest Browning gave a statement to Rolling Stone. He said that “Any artist can take a song they already have on Audius and just export it over to TikTok in one click”.
How is Audius different from others?
Audius is the first streaming network to offer TikTok direct sharing. It is a major milestone for a music platform that has just recently exceeded the 5-million-user mark.
Audius does not pay music creators directly based on streams. Instead, they are provided the tools they need to make money from their job. Audius token is also used to reward artists for their contributions to the platform.
Artists like Skrillex and deadmau5, Audius boasts a roster of over 100,000 musicians. The Ethereum and Solana blockchains are used by the platform, which was founded in 2018 and debuted in 2019.
What is Audius and how does it work?
Audius is a blockchain-based music streaming service that is completely decentralized. Signing up as a listener and uploading music are both free. Musicians may share their music and establish a fanbase of fans eager to discover new up-and-coming artists all on one free platform.

Ethereum-based Audius works in a different way as compared to other streaming services. It provides unlimited uploads as well as a unique decentralized platform with the goal of generating revenue for artists. Also, since there is no middleman, the platform has no control over the deletion or editing of songs.
