In Brief:
- Facebook may include NFT features in its digital wallet.
- A Facebook executive says Facebook is in a good place to involve with the crypto space.
In an interview with Bloomberg TV, Facebook executive, David Marcus said that Facebook might look to integrate non-fungible tokens (NFT) and related features into its Novi digital wallet. Marcus specified that Facebook is in a good position to involve with the space in multiple ways.
“We’re definitely looking at the number of ways to get involved in the space because we think we’re in a really good position to do so,” Facebook executive David Marcus said Tuesday in an interview on Bloomberg Television.
Marcus said that users could use Novi wallet to hold NFTs. He said, “When you have a good crypto wallet like Novi will be, you also have to think about how to help consumers support NFTs,” he added. “We’re definitely thinking about this.” Although he wasn’t very specific about what kinds of NFT-related products Facebook might build.
Marcus also said that the Wallet is all ready to launch. However, Facebook is waiting until the regulators approve Diem to launch the wallet.
NFTs are currently the hottest trend in the crypto space. It has attracted celebrities as well as several companies outside the space. NFTs have rapidly taken over the DeFi space and has no signs of subsiding.
Considering Facebook’s brand value and capacity for exposure, the NFT market could grow even more popular.
