A Decentralized Gaming platform the Sandbox has purchased the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT for an astounding amount of 740 ETH(approx.. $2.9 million USD at the time of sale). They set a new record for the Bored Ape Yacht Club.
In a Twitter thread explaining the reasons behind the purchase, the platform expanded on its belief in NFT metaverse saying: “We strongly believe that culture, whether, games, music, visual arts, will one of the pillars of the open crypto #metaverse.”
It also added that Bored APE #3749 aka “The Captain” is a perfect example of why NFTs are the intersection of scarcity, art, and gaming.
“Bored APE #3749 is a six trait gold fur ape with a sea captain’s hat, black t-shirt, and of course laser eyes. Based on these traits, Bored APE #3749 is the 27th rarest ape,” according to the blog post.

The company currently holds 350+ unique NFT ranging from Crypto Art, Gaming, NFTs Avatar collections, Fashion, Music, Social Fashion, etc. It also includes 31 BAYC NFTs alongside other leading projects such as Rumble Kong League and Pudgy Penguins NFTs.
The estimated net worth of the Sandbox NFT collection is 3,880 ETH as of September 2021. The company allows collectors to share, display, and play with their NFTs as part of an interactive 3D experience.
