American professional basketball player, Stephan Curry is signed by FTX as a Global brand ambassador. He will also hold an equity stake in the FTX trading limited. FTX is the fastest-growing crypto exchange platform.
Moreover, Curry’s foundation Eat.Learn.Play. will also collaborate with charitable initiatives of FTX. As an ambassador, he’ll expand the reach of the FTX brand to new audiences around the world through several initiatives.
Curry stated that “I’m excited to partner with a company that demystifies the crypto space and eliminates the intimidation factor for first-time users”. This is the first investment of Curry in the crypto world.
FTX seeks to become the top platform for retail investors. To accomplish this purpose the company has been making deals with top athletes and celebrities. Earlier this year, the company had closed a deal with Football superstar Tom Brady and model Gisele Bundchen.
FTX, valued at $18 billion according to the most recent fundraising round. From the beginning of 2021, the company had increased involvement in various tie-ups. Last month, The Cal Golden bears had transferred its naming rights on lease for 10-year, worth $17.5 million to FTX.
“After meeting and speaking with Stephen, it was clear that he is a seamless fit for FTX,” said Bankman-Fried, FTX chief executive officer.
