A Prominent search engine, Google is linking up with Canadian blockchain Studio Dapper Labs to help support the development of new web 3 products and services, including the current famous nonfungible token (NFT) technology.
As per the deal, Google Cloud will provide support as a network operator for Dapper Labs’ Flow blockchain. Dapper Lab is a crucial infrastructure that runs the entire ecosystem of NFTs, games, and apps.
Janet Kennedy, the vice president of Google Cloud North America hopes that the partnership will help Dapper expand its operations through “Scalable, Secure Infrastructure” provided by Google.
Google has also kept the easy process for Flow Developers to integrate with its software, which gives it the edge over other competitors such as Amazon Web Services.
Dapper’s Flow blockchain supports some of the most popular NFT collections on the market. Which contain NBA Top Shot and CryptoKitties. By February of this year, NBA Top Shot had generated $230 million in sales. That figure has nearly tripled to $680 million, according to Forbes.
Dapper Lab’s CEO Roham Gharegozlou had also given a confirmation on this tie-up news by tweet.
It is known that in less than a year, NFT has raised in a surprising manner, as it is currently holding a multi-billion-dollar market of the crypto industry. NFT companies are also valuing at a higher price with the funding rounds. Recently, NFT startup Recur raised $50 million in a Series A funding round valuing the company at $333 million.
