The blockchain data platform, Chainalysis announced the acquisition of cybercrime forensics firm Excygent. Chainalysis has collaborated with the Excygent team to support government agencies in investigating several high-profile cyber cases.
As a highly specialized technology firm, Excygent serves both government and private clients, offering its services to U.S. governmental agencies investigating cybercrime. Excygent has partnered with Chainalysis to tackle some of the most significant cryptocurrency investigations in recent years using their technology and expertise.
Michael Gronager, Chainalysis CEO, wrote a blog post in which he discussed past collaborations with Excygent in the area of terrorism financing campaigns, Cryptocurrency theft from darknet marketplaces, and other illicit activities.
