In Brief:
- CAA to collaborate with the famous “0xb1”.
- This partnership will help “0xb1” in commercialising their works.
- CAA also signed a deal with the BAYC’s Jenkins The Valet on September 22.
The prestigious California-based talent agency Creative Artists Agency (CAA) announced a collaboration with the infamous non-fungible token (NFT) asset collector known as “0xb1” on October 8.
The powerful talent agency hopes to help the eponymous 0xb1 monetize his vast NFT collection while also bolstering “blue-chip brands looking to enter the NFT space.”
According to the report, the CAA will assist the unnamed NFT collector in commercialising their pieces through licensing and brand partnerships. According to the report, the agency will also facilitate “advisory partnerships” between 0xb1 and “blue-chip brands looking to enter the NFT space.”
On Twitter, 0xb1 confirmed the agreement, stating that they will “work hard to bring open license NFT brands & properties mainstream,” beginning with their NFT collections Bored Ape Yacht Club, Cool Cats, and Spunks by Spongenuity.
This is not CAA’s first transaction in the NFT space. Jenkins The Valet (from the Bored Ape Yacht Club) joined the agency last month for representation in books, film, TV, podcasts, and more. In recent weeks, the agency inked similar deals with NFT creators Micah Johnson and Mack Flavelle.
UTA, another American talent agency, recently signed a deal with Larva Labs, the creators of CryptoPunks, Autoglyphs, and Meebits NFTs, to represent their artworks in film, television, video games, and publishing projects.
Recently, a German art forger, Wolfgang Beltracchi, who served a prison sentence, has entered the world of NFTs.
