- Binance’s efforts to transform into a financial institution and working closely with financial regulators for the same.
Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency platform, has announced the appointment of Mark McGinness-its first chief regulatory liaison officer.
The appointment is following Binance’s efforts to transform into a financial institution and working closely with financial regulators for the same.
Mark McGinness has over 30 years of experience as a leading financial regulator and decision-maker. Mark has established a global network of over 85 financial regulators while he was in DFSA(Dubai Financial Services Authority).
Following the appointment, Binance CEO, ‘CZ’ Changpeng Zhao stated that “Mark joining our leadership is not only a huge step forward for Binance but the industry as a whole, as we work to grow the industry responsibly with the support of regulators and policymakers across the globe.”
Binance has grown its team by over 500% since 2020 with the recent joining of Tigran Gambaryan as vice president of global intelligence and investigations.
Binance is expecting that with the recent recruits and engagement with multiple financial regulators, it can soon transform into a financial institution from just a tech startup.
