In Brief:
- Cosmos teased the launch of its new blockchain, named Sagan.
- Developers now have the chance to try out different protocols and blockchains.
The leading blockchain platform Cosmos announced the launch of a new blockchain called Sagan in their quarterly keynote report.
Cosmos teased the debut of Sagan with a 30-second film that included a quotation from cosmologist Carl Sagan and the name of the blockchain and a picture of a canary. The canary picture could refer to the blockchain as a “canary network” in development.
Previously Polkadot debuted Kusuma, which was in the form of a canary network. The canary model is said to create and use a parachain or put Polkadot’s governance, staking, and other features to the test in a real-world setup.
Sagan to take the form of a Cosmos environment that allows developers to test new blockchains and applications before being released to the network.
Cosmos is also developing rollup scaling technology, which will allow developers to create Cosmos-based blockchains in the form of rollups that may be deployed as clusters within the inter-blockchain communication protocol’s zones.
