In Brief:
- Crypterium, the cryptocurrency wallet app, was registered by the UK’s FCA on October 25.
- Almost 200 companies have applied for FCA’s registration so far.
- Crypterium’s crypto wallet app is available in more than 170 countries and has successfully gathered over 400,000 clients.
Crypterium, the cryptocurrency wallet app, has reportedly been registered by the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority(FCA).
Crypterium officially announced on October 25 that it has recently been registered by the FCA thus enabling cryptocurrency services to UK citizens and companies. It is worth noting that only a small handful of companies are given the green light in the registration process from almost 200 that have so far tried applying.
According to the public information made available on FCA’s website, Crypterim has been permitted to operate “crypto activities” in absolute compliance with UK’s anti-money laundering directives since October 11.
It is worth mentioning that with the much-awaited Brexit measures, allowing Crypterium to hold the same functional power to UK businesses as other supported countries is quite a prominent thing to do.
Since its launch, Crypterium’s crypto wallet app is available in more than 170 countries and has successfully gathered over 400,000 clients.
An elated Crypterium CEO, Steven Parker remarked, “Becoming an FCA-registered firm is a fantastic opportunity. From now on, interested parties will view Crypterium in a new light, a company that puts user security and accessibility first. Not only do we provide an excellent set of services, but now we can show that these are done with full compliance of some of the toughest assessment criteria.”
To be able to pass the UK’s stringent approach to crypto regulation is nothing less of a Herculean task. This will surely help the customers to place their goodwill and trust in crypto transactions in Crypterium. Interestingly, this registration comes after FCA had released a speech on crypto token regulation in September.
The elite crypto giants who have been registered with FCA include two firms affiliated with Winklevoss twins’ crypto exchange Gemini, Australian exchange CoinJar, crypto-friendly bank Ziglu, Archax, Diginex’s Digivault. And Crypterium becomes the newest addition to this elite Club.
