In Brief:
- Aaron Rodgers to take a part of his NFL salary in Bitcoin.

- The overall pay would be around 368.84 BTC at a price of $60,636.
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has said that he will be taking a percentage of his NFL salary in Bitcoin.
Rodgers, who was costumed as the fictitious character John Wick for Halloween, stated in a video posted to his Twitter account on Nov. 1 that he would be teaming with Cash App to collect a portion of his pay in Bitcoin (BTC).
Rodgers will earn a basic salary of $1.1 million, plus a $14.5 million signing bonus and a $6.8 million roster bonus from March, for a total of $22.3 million, according to the NFL.
Rodgers’ total compensation would be worth around 368.84 BTC at a price of $60,636 at the time of writing, according to statistics from Cointelegraph Markets Pro. Though the cryptocurrency hit an all-time high at $67,000 on Oct. 20, it dropped below $60,000 several times last week and has been primarily trading between $60,000 and $63,000.
As cryptocurrency becomes more widely accepted, Rodgers joins a growing list of well-known athletes who are using it. Last week, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady stated that the fan who held his 600th career touchdown football would receive 1 BTC and signed sports memorabilia.
This was not the first time for any famous player to accept cryptocurrency, in fact earlier in August Lionel Messi, one of the greatest soccer players of all time, started receiving fan tokens as payment for his move to Paris Saint-Germain in France (PSG).
