FIDE, the International Chess Federation, has announced its partnership with TON Labs to launch ChessNFT.com – a new, holistic chess non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace. With this launch, FIDE will be established as the first-ever global sports federation to launch its own NFT marketplace.
In the statement, Fide informed that the Marketplace will be launched on the Free TON Network ahead of the upcoming FIDE World Championship in Dubai which is due this November.
As the official statements pronounced, the ChessNFT will hail a new crypto demographic by bringing their service to both chess players and fans through the digitalization and gamification of iconic match moments, chess-related art, unique collectables, and many more exciting opportunities.
The platform’s interface will also hold the bid on and purchase of chess NFTs that live on-chain through the use of fiat as well as cryptocurrencies.
