In Brief:
- Civic Technologies announced the launch of Ignite Pass.
- The Ignite Pass is a free version of the company’s Civic Pass tool.
- The tool will filter out bots from Solana-based NFT drops.
The leading decentralized identity platform, Civic Technologies, announced the launch of a new tool termed Ignite Pass. The tool is a free version of the company’s innovative Civic Pass product.
Additionally, their Civic Pass product includes automated and fully integrated controls that enable real-time screening for KYC and AML requirements.
According to the press release from the firm, Ignite Pass will require non-fungible token (NFT) purchasers to demonstrate their “liveness” for drops and mints to maintain an equitable and transparent community.
Through the tool, buyers will be required to verify their liveness in order to prove that they are human. The free version requires no storage of private information on the creator’s or marketplace’s part.
The users will be required to take a video selfie to verify, after which an Ignite Pass will be issued to their wallet address. The pass is also valid for 24 hours to “limit the options of malicious botters verifying multiple wallets.”
Civic Technologies CEO, Chris Hart, stated this in regards to Ignite Pass, “Bots are more than a nuisance — they’re destroying the trust that communities have built as well as the future prospects of its creators. We’re proud to provide tools that will help them achieve greater success at their auctions and help keep their communities bot-free.”
The bot attacks are getting more rampant day by day, so the tool definitely will be in high demand. Just in September, Solana’s blockchain network went down for more than 17 hours due to bot activities. The bots had bombarded the network with 400,000 transactions per second.
