Red Bull Racing Honda has announced the launch of its NFT collection as part of its collaboration with Tezos. The joint venture is pronounced as a celebration of the 2021 Mexican Grand Prix, and especially as a tribute to star racer Sergio “Checo” Perez.
As per the tweet, “Checo’s RB16B charger” has been added as the latest and last NFT in its first-ever experiment in the NFT collectibles space.
The collection also features other Mexican Grand Prix 2021 themed NFTs and that includes Checo’s race suit and helmet, in addition to the race suit of fellow Red Bull racer Max Verstappen.
Checo’s special edition helmet NFT was also released for free and was sold out immediately.
Red Bull is available through the Sweet NFT platform, which added support for Tezos too, just last month.
Back in May, Red Bull had announced Tezos as its official blockchain partner with a multi-year agreement that would work towards producing Red Bull’s first-ever NFT fan experience. In fact, Red Bull had added Tezos branding to its official liveries.
As a result of which, F1 teams Aston Martin and Alfa Romeo had reportedly become the first Formula 1 TEAM in the world to launch Fan Tokens.
As for Tezos, it was launched in 2018 and is an open-source blockchain that can be resorted to for building applications that make use of smart contracts and provides developers with an alternative to Ethereum.
