A day after the Universal Music group revealed a plan to build a metaverse band by using characters from Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs, music producer Timbaland announced a plan to launch entertainment company Ape-in production.
As per the company’s plan, Ape-in Production will work with Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs holders to develop music and animation for metaverse applications.
Timbaland announced “plan on disrupting the music business again with this new venture similar to how Verzuz and Beatclub have.”
Surprisingly, AIP is launching its first project named TheZoo, which is a virtual hip-hop group in the Bored Ape Yacht Club universe. It will be released with the song “ApeShit”, which is also produced by Timbaland.
“We’ve built a new entertainment platform in the metaverse that puts creative control and long-term ownership back in the hands of artists, a concept that is incredibly important to us,” Timbaland stated.
AIP was developed by Timbaland and a number of BAYC community members. Jonathan Tenenbaum, Andrew Rosener, Gary Marella, Clement Kwan, and Timbaland’s Beatclub will also work with the company to develop the platform.
