In Brief:
- SHIB will soon be accepted as an online payment alternative and also for concessions by AMC.
- AMC will collaborate with BitPay to bring in SHIB.
- Aron informed that it will take 60-120 days for achieving the feat.
Adam Aron, the CEO of American Entertainment giant, AMC Theatre has tweeted about roping in Shiba Inu (SHIB) as an online payment alternative and also for concessions.
This feat will be achieved in collaboration with BitPay which provides payment processing services for cryptocurrencies.
Adam Aron’s tweet informed that this step was taken by ‘friend’ BitPay on the suggestion made by him. Aron had revealed last week that AMC will start accepting bitcoin, ether and other cryptocurrencies for online payments.
This development will take its full shape in 60-120 days as informed by the tweet.
Interestingly, SHIB is currently trading at $0.000051 USD, with a 24-hour trading volume of $3,429,572,568 USD. The meme coin was down 3.74% in the last 24 hours.
On October 29, Adam Aron had set up a Twitter poll asking his followers whether AMC should accept SHIB alongside Dogecoin (DOGE) and other cryptocurrencies. Notably, out of a total of 153,100 votes, 87.6 percent said “Yes.” and ever since this affirmative response, the company has been trying to find a way to accept SHIB.
AMC has always been on the forefront when it comes to its crypto adventures. In October, AMC had allowed consumers to buy digital gift cards using Dogecoin (DOGE). In an interview with CNBC, Adam Aron had also disclosed its ambition to issue its own cryptocurrency. Seems like AMC doesn’t want to miss out on cryptos!
