Joel Zimmerman, a Canadian electronic music producer and DJ better known by his stage name Deadmau5, released a new NFT collection titled “head5”.
The NFT collection, which is now available on head5.io, was made in collaboration with music partner and video director Nick DenBoer (Smearballs).
Head5′ comprises 5,555 NFTs minted on the Polygon blockchain. The NFTs were available for purchase on head5.io.
The head5 NFTs are 3D heads prepared for Deadmau5’s metaverse adventure. The collection is inspired by Smearballs’ wild and colorful art style.
3D Heads with ice cream cones, lollipops, plungers, nose rings, and a Bitcoin-inspired texture were available for purchase. The 3D head-shaped NFTs cost 0.15 ETH each (approximately $680).
For the collection, Smearballs created 200 assets. Each head is a unique combination of four different categories: skull, eyes, ears, and mouth.
The head5 collection collaborated with a 3D avatar creation platform, Ready Player Me, to enable collectors to connect their NFTs to the platform’s 720+ metaverse integrations..
Collectors will be able to examine their NFTs using a custom-built 3D viewer, and they will be able to change the background color to take additional pictures.
When talking about musicians exploring NFT and metaverse we can’t leave out musician Timbaland. Recently the music producer launched Ape-in Production to collaborate with Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT holders to create music and animation for metaverse applications.
