American Football star Odell Beckham Jr. will take his next National Football League salary, $4.25 million in Bitcoin as a part of a deal with Cash App.
On Monday, Beckham posted a tweet on his Twitter account, in which he revealed his possible partnering with Cash App to get his “new salary” in Bitcoin. As per the National insider report, Beckham’s earning is nearly $750,000 base salary on top of a $500,000 signing bonus in addition to $3 million in other incentives, totaling $4.25 million for the 2021 season.
As per the current market value of Bitcoin ($56,103), Beckham’s total salary in Bitcoin lies between 75.66 BTC.
“It’s the start of a new era. I’m looking forward to the future,” he wrote in a video embedded in the tweet. Beckham Jr. is also giving away $1 million worth of Bitcoin to fans on his Twitter account.
This is not the first time when any Player from NFL is taking salary in Bitcoin. Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has said that he will be taking a percentage of his NFL salary in Bitcoin.
