Leading non-fungible tokens marketplace, Rarible has introduced a new messaging function on its website to improve communication between users and creators in a secure way. Users and creators can message using their crypto wallet address despite their username.
Rarible stated that the new messaging app will allow users to communicate with creators and sellers about NFTs sales. Also, this will improve the connections between digital creators and their fans in order to build a trustworthy NFTs ecosystem.
“The overall goal is to grow communication in the crypto space,” Rarible co-founder and product head Alex Salnikov told CoinDesk in an interview. “The smaller goal is to facilitate the communication inside the NFT space specifically. NFTs are all about forming communities.”
The new messaging feature is similar to other social media messaging apps, where users can check another user’s activity status, whether he/she is online or not. Also, users can receive instant notifications of messages. However, Users can only send and receive a message from their followers.
Rarible wants to understand the functionality of the messaging as its initial rollout will be just for the limited number of launch partners and influencers. The company is also planning to launch an independent messaging app in the future. Before this, Rarible added a new NFT minting feature to create NFTs for free.
