Crypto fintech startup Moonpay announced the launch of a “concierge service” that helps individuals with a high net worth in purchasing NFTs and crypto in an easier way.
The concierge service assists rich celebrities and VIPs to buy crypto and NFTs without having to set up a crypto wallet.
Moonpay described the service as “a white glove service for wealthy people who want to acquire NFT in the easiest way possible, without the hassle of setting up a wallet, buying cryptocurrency, using that cryptocurrency to buy an NFT and then taking it into custody.”
Jimmy Fallon and Post Malone are among the celebrities who utilized Moonpay’s beta version of the service to buy Bored Ape NFTs.
On November 12, Fallon tweeted an image of Bored Ape #599. During an interview with digital artist Beeple, Fallon also revealed that he purchased the NFT art via MoonPay’s services.
In the case of Post Malone, he was seen in the “One Right Now” music video purchasing a Bored Ape with MoonPay service. The music video was a collaboration with The Weeknd.
Rapper Lil Baby also adds to the list of celebrities’ who utilized the beta version service. Last month, MoonPay transferred to him Bored Ape #129 NFT, which he has used as his Twitter profile image.
Moonpay stated, “There’s a method to our madness. Posty and The Weeknd (and, for that matter, Lil Baby) have one crucial quality in common: they’re iconic ambassadors for the creator economy.”
Moonpay has been steadily trying to expand its platform and services. Just a few days back the crypto startup raised $555M in a Series A funding round valuing it at $3.4B. The funds will be utilized for talent acquisition and platform expansion.
