AussieMates has announced via Twitter about a collaboration with mental health non-profit LIVIN to release a collection of 10,000 one-of-a-kind kangaroo NFTs inspired by Australian culture, with the goal of fostering a supportive community via access to knowledge and health.
Owners of AussieMates, known as Down Under Club members, will have access to LIVIN’s virtual health classes, tools, and early prevention and intervention programmes, which are all endorsed by LIVIN’s trained psychologist, after they go on sale on Jan. 7, 2022.
According to an Ernst and Young social impact analysis, 79% of participants stated LIVIN helped them make good improvements in their well-being, and 82%t of those who applied the program’s methods to someone else thought it had a beneficial impact on that individual.
Bianca Musico, co-founder of AussieMates, said: “We believe in the community more than anything. Being able to support LIVIN with its incredible work to de-stigmatize mental health is a tremendous privilege. This is the spirit which AussieMates embodies.”
She further added, “We don’t want anyone to get left behind. For us our AussieMates ‘roos are mental health personified. They’re the essence of balance, strength, health and fun. We love how kangaroos can only move forward and that’s what we want for our community.”
The repercussions on people’s mental health have been severe as a result of many Australians being exposed to strict lockdown settings — particularly in Melbourne, which holds the world record for the most days spent in lockdown, with 262, as of October.
With such positive motives, an Australian artist, Rhys Dale sold his “Drop Bears” NFTs to raise money for koala conservation this October.
