In Brief:
- These famous musicians purchased NFTs through MoonPay’s ‘concierge service’ this week.
- The purchase was from the Bored Ape Yacht Club collection.
- Musicians have altered their profile images on Twitter or Instagram.
Diplo, DJ Khaled, Martin Garrix, and Future are among the musicians who have used MoonPay’s ‘concierge service’ to purchase NFTs from the Bored Ape Yacht Club collection.
Producer Diplo tweeted a Spotify Wrapped photograph of the item yesterday, along with updating his profile picture to Bored Ape #5384. Future submitted #4672 with the caption ‘gm’ on November 28.
All four musicians have altered their profile images on Twitter or Instagram in the last week to show off their new purchases.
MoonPay’s OpenSea account can be linked to all of these things from the Bored Ape Yacht Club. Each of the pieces was purchased by MoonPay and afterwards moved to another location, according to the account page.
Only Diplo has a named OpenSea address among the four stars, but a source close to the situation stated that the other addresses are linked to the other stars and that MoonPay enabled the transactions.
MoonPay secretly launched a ‘concierge’ service last week, aimed at high-net-worth customers interested in purchasing digital collectibles and cryptocurrency. Rappers Lil Baby and Post Malone, were among the company’s initial consumers.
Ivan Soto-Wright, the company’s CEO and co-founder, has stated that he first met Fallon at NFT.NYC, and that it was during this encounter that the host decided to include the payments company on his show. Last Monday, a MoonPay spokeswoman verified that the company has no business dealings with Fallon.
Four more celebrities have joined MoonPay’s client list, indicating that the service is gaining traction following its $555 million Series A financing headed by Tiger Global and Coatue.
