In Brief:
- A bug was noticed today after everyone began to withdraw “Merge” NFTs.
- Just 4 hours ago Nifty Gateways said that NFTs were available for withdrawals.
- Nifty Gateway and OpenSea have confirmed the temporary disability of the secondary market activity.
“Merge” NFT collectors discovered a bug today when they attempted to withdraw their “m” tokens from Nifty Gateway.
The bug was discovered about 4 hours after Nifty Gateways said it through a tweet that NFTs were available for withdrawals.
Ever since Pak’s “Merge” NFT project got a huge success on Nifty Gateway by gaining almost $91.8 million, it’s the most discussed topic among all collectors in the industry.
Although, activities on the project are temporarily shut down.
Murat Pak, the creator of ‘merge’ has requested everyone to stop withdrawing ‘Merge’ tokens. He even requested OpenSea to stop the secondary market activity.
Also to note that by the time the secondary market was closed 271 ETH volumes were traded which is about $1 million.
After the bug attack took place, Pak even mocked by saying that everyone was sleeping but also assured that Nifty Gateway would fix this bug.
He made it clear that due to time zone differences it may take some time for Nifty Gateway to fix this bug.
But he also commented that if the bug is bigger enough then the whole collection would be minted again and the current artworks would be converted into historical bugged artworks.
He also assured that he would make all the required metadata modifications.
Just to make the entire situation a bit lighter for his fans he asked them to enjoy the bugs for now and it would all be taken care of.
When one of the collectors asked Pak if they would be allowed to keep the original “Merge” NFT and also Nifty Gateway would give away another token to compensate for the glitch, Pak’s reply was positive towards it.
He finally claimed that he knows what sort of glitch is this and is pretty much confident that there are potential solutions for its recovery.
Although now Pak has got a positive response from Nifty Gateway and OpenSea have temporarily disabled the activity on the secondary market.
In Pak’s latest tweet he congratulated bug NFT owners because they were holding an actual bugged NFT. He even plans to rename it accordingly before ‘m’ tokens are redistributed.
Pak’s official message to all his fans was “we don’t make mistakes, we just have happy accidents.”
It’s just today when Pak gave an update mentioning that the “Merge” update will give everyone everything they’ve gotten so far, as well as repair any wrong burns.
