Binance, the world’s largest crypto exchange, is in talks with some of Indonesia’s biggest companies for a crypto venture, on Friday, as suggested by a report.
As per the report, Binance is discussing prospects of crypto ventures with PT Bank Central Asia (BCA), controlled by billionaire brothers Budi and Michael Hartono, and state-owned PT Telkom Indonesia, Indonesia’s largest telecom operator.
The Hartonos are Indonesia’s richest family and the Indonesian government owns 52% of Telkom Indonesia.
A partnership between Binance, BCA and the nation’s largest telecom operator would accelerate the pace of adoption of cryptocurrencies in Indonesia, the developing country of 273 million people.
To serve the purpose, it is expected that BCA, which is one of Indonesia’s biggest banks, might form a partnership with Binance through an affiliate. Although, there has not been such a discussion at the BCA board meeting.
Even though Binance has not disclosed its cards yet, a spokesperson did mention that, “We’re supportive of the sustainable progress of the blockchain trade globally and we’re continually enterprise alternatives in each nation”.
Recently, Binance Asia Services, the blockchain ecosystem and crypto provider behind Binance Singapore had invested in HG Exchange acquiring an 18% post-money stake.
