Dr. Seuss Enterprises announced the launch of NFTs titled ‘Seussibles!’ based on legendary author and artist Dr. Seuss’s works. The launch is in collaboration with NFT developer Dapper Labs and NFT startup Tibles.
Seussibles, a smartphone app and web app, will be used to distribute the company’s NFT products. Individuals aged 18 and above can create an account and use their credit cards to buy Seuss items in “blind” five-packs, in which the buyer has no idea which five NFTs they’ll get.
The five-pack NFTs’ starting price is $4.99 and the NFTs’ prices will rise as their rarity rises, and users can utilize the Seussibles app to interact with other fans and trade collectibles.
Users will be only able to buy and sell NFTs via the Flow blockchain using the app in this early version of the platform, and most probably the fans will be able to trade on a secondary peer-to-peer platform in 2022.
Fans can buy digital collectibles of characters from Dr.Seuss’s legendary creations, including the Cat in the Hat, The Lorax, and The Grinch
There will be over 600 NFT collectibles based on titles such as Green Eggs and Ham; Fox in Socks; One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish; Horton Hears a Who!; Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You?; and Hop on Pop!
Dr. Seuss Enterprises President Susan Brandt informed The Hollywood Reporter that she was first excited by the prospect of bringing the Seuss universe into the NFT world after learning about CryptoKitties.
It is a game created by Dapper Labs in which users can accumulate, “breed,” and sell digital cats on the Ethereum blockchain.
Just like Brandt, Caty Tedman, the head of Dapper Labs’ partnerships, views Seussibles as a tool for promoting the digital collectible world to wider audiences.
“We’re talking about more of a cultural movement, where there are things that people of diverse interests can participate in “Seussibles is really a shining example of how beloved property can come to life using this technology,” Tedman stated.
NFTs based on fictional characters is the new craze in the crypto market right now. Just a day back a Chakraverse limited edition NFT collection based on Indian superhero Chakra The Invincible was announced to be released on December 27th. The launch is to commemorate what would have been co-creator Stan Lee’s 99th birthday.
