In Brief:
- Netgear is set to launch an NFT display feature in its Meural smart picture frame.
- Meural frame owners will be able to connect their MetaMask wallet to their frame and display NFTs.
- The versions are available in a variety of colors on Amazon or Netgear, with varying levels of availability.
US-based computer networking firm, Netgear is set to enable the NFT display feature in its Meural smart picture frame in collaboration with Metamask.
According to reports, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Netgear revealed that Meural frame owners will be able to connect their MetaMask wallet to their frame and display NFTs from the wallet.
Owners of Meural will be able to log in to their MetaMask wallet via the Meural web platform and choose which NFTs to show on the smart frame. These will be displayed alongside a verifiable QR code and metadata.
The Meural lineup from Netgear comprises a 15.6-inch photo frame for $299.95, as well as larger Canvas smart frames of 21-inch and 27-inch for $399.95 and $599.95, respectively.
All of these versions are available in a variety of colors on Amazon or Netgear, with varying levels of availability. The Metamask integration is presently in beta testing.
Users can use an associated app or a MicroSD card to display images and slideshows from their phone or tablet, subscribe to curated collections of artwork, and purchase individual artworks using the Meural app.
Netgear and NFT platform Async Art collaborated in July 2021 to integrate their artworks into the Meural art library, allowing customers to view a selected collection for a $69.95 yearly subscription charge.
That collaboration did not grant Meural users ownership of Async Art’s NFTs, nor did it allow Meural users to display NFT art that they owned.
According to data from DappRadar, NFT sales volume increased by nearly eightfold in the third quarter of 2021, to $10.7 billion (approximately Rs. 79,820 crores). Many have been perplexed by the soaring sales and high prices of NFTs, although the multi-fold expansion reveals little or no decline.Â
It’s no shocking news that NFTs are being featured in key tech companies’ CES presentations. Just a day back Samsung announced its ‘NFT Aggregation platform’ in its 2022 TV lineup which will contain built-in support for browsing, purchasing, and displaying NFTs.
