Hexeract, the award-winning Designer and Creative Director from Italy has announced the sale of his NFT artwork performed by artificial intelligence, “E Pluribus Unum” on SuperRare.
This fresh NFT concept is the first-ever robotics AI-based NFT art to be minted. In a tweet thread, Hexeract shared the “making of” what he described as his most important artwork, “E Pluribus Unum”.
The well choreographed NFT video shared by him shows two robot arms assembling a larger cube by using multiple smaller cubes with a rhythmic sound score progressing the suspense quotient of the action.
The artist also elaborated on how the artwork came to be. It is explained that the robot arms were trained in Unity using Machine Learning (ML) agents for object location recognition and custom inverse kinematics ML solver. Over time, the robot arms learned how to recognize the cubes and how to move in space.
The artist tweeted that last spring, he began experimenting in Unity with ML agents and started to train spheres/cubes. Later, he started to train this robot arm as he wanted his robot arm to use AI to achieve the final artwork result.
Hexeract also shared two other videos, each one tracing the evolution of the final result. In one of them, only one robot arm is shown stacking a pile of 6 cubes on top of each other in a failed attempt. The other video shows the robot arm successfully stacking up the file.
This unique approach to NFTs has sparked interest among NFT fans, and given the hype, we surely will see more of it in the future.
The artwork also seems to have attracted a lot of excitement and appreciation from crypto enthusiasts including the famous artist, Murat Pak who went on to call the creation process of the art ‘exceptional’.
Speaking of Pak, the artist’s Merge NFT had recently created history with a total sale of 266855 NFTs with an estimated price of $91.8 million in just 48 hours.
