On January 06, MoonPay, the crypto payment firm bought one of the rare CryptoPunk item, CryptoPunk#2681 for a massive 900 ETH (roughly 3 million).
The rare attributes of the aforementioned CryptoPunk, which is also one of the 88 zombie Punk, includes ‘Blue Clown Eyes’ and a ‘Purple Cap’.
MoonPay, which is valued at a whopping $3.4 billion, made the purchase through an account linked with their ‘concierge’ service. In the past, the firm brokered large-ticket non-fungible tokens (NFT) transactions on behalf of celebrities like Diplo, Snoop Dogg, Martin Garrix, and Jimmy Fallon through this method.
Moreover, MoonPay has marketed items from the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) collection and shipped these items to celebrity customers’ locations, and then bill them for the expense. Among the firm’s first concierge clients were Rapper Lil Baby and Post Malone.
Data from DappRadar suggests that the sale of punk #2681 is the twelfth largest in the collection’s history.
As for CryptoPunk, the collection is perhaps the most talked about set in the non-fungible token (NFT) market, with almost $1.9 billion in sales made up to date.
