The appointment of FTX as the naming rights sponsor, according to Steve Vallas, Chief Executive Officer of Blockchain Australia, arrives at a ‘watershed moment for the Australian blockchain ecosystem.’
“Growing interest in blockchain technology from major financial institutions together with signs of increasing regulation for the industry mean this year’s event is being held at a critical time for all players in this market,” Vallas added.
The event will be broadcast globally and conduct sessions on themes like venture capital, the Metaverse revolution, regulatory perspectives, emerging tech trends, CBDCs, ethics, and privacy in Web3, taxation and risk challenges, etc.
Sam Bankman-Fried, CEO of FTX, stated “Australia has a vibrant and innovative crypto and Blockchain industry and we are very proud to be the naming sponsor for Blockchain Week.”
FTX intends to support the long-term growth of the Australian market and contribute to discussions aimed at advancing local industry, according to Sam.
Crypto exchanges are on a roll since the beginning of 2022 by signing sponsorship deals to promote themselves. Recently Binance became the official sponsor of AFCON 2021 in partnership with the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The event will have a viewership of over 300 million people, and Binance’s logo will be displayed on every stadium screen during the games.
