AltiusDAO is partnering with Polygon studios to launch the NFT collection of India’s legendary late athlete, Milkha Singh, also known as ‘The Flying Sikh’. The collection will drop on Republic Day of India, 26th January.
Milkha Singh is ideal for many Indian Sports athletes because of his astonishing and incredible achievements. Milkha Singh’s sports crown is holding the feathers of four Asian and 1 British Empire & Commonwealth Gold Medal. He has also made India proud in the 1960 Olympics with the fourth rank. India honored Milkha Singh by giving Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian honor.
The collection will contain “Super Rare”, “Rare”, “Champion” NFT categories inspired by Milkha Singh’s life. Also, the NFT collection will airdrop 1000 NFTs from the “Sprinter” collection. The NFT collection will celebrate his accomplishments and the impact he made.
Moreover, the NFT holders will get other benefits such as access to altiusDAO, invaluable personal memorabilia of Milkha Singh, limited edition sports merchandise.
The remuneration generated from the NFT sale will be donated to Milkha Singh’s Charitable trust to support rising athletes and the needy. Before this, the world’s first licensed cricket-based NFT platform, Rario has signed a deal with Indian cricketers Zahir Khan and Smriti Mandhana to create NFTs from crickets.
Last year, India lost this sports gem while Covid-19 hit with the second wave, which also took the life of his spouse. But the glory and achievements which he has given away to Indian Sports will always be remembered and stay written in history.
