Metaverse platform Ready Player Me announced the launch of a collection of 10,000 unique 3D avatars aimed at CryptoPunks NFT owners.
The color scheme of the avatars will be the same as that of the CryptoPunks. The avatars also have one-of-a-kind badges that depict the Punk’s characteristics.
Ready Player Me is partnering with over 1300 firms to incorporate the 3D avatars into their apps and games.
Somnium Space, DogemonGo, Mona, Blind Chihuahua, Animaze, etc, are some of the companies Ready Player Me is collaborating with.
The series CryptoPunk and Ready Player Me Punks are distinct. This means that punk owners can profit from their CryptoPunk NFTs by purchasing 3D avatars of their punks and then reselling them for a higher price.
The 3D Avatars will have a minting price of 0.33 ETH, with half of the revenue, covering secondary market sales, going to the developers of apps and games that are compatible with Punks and other NFT-based assets.
Larva Labs debuted CryptoPunks in 2017, and they are among the most sought-after and pricey NFTs in the market. When the CryptoPunks collection was released on the Ethereum blockchain nearly five years ago, it became one of the network’s first NFT initiatives, as well as the inspiration for the ERC-721 standard, which is now used for much of today’s digital art and collectibles.
