Yesterday, The first metaverse gaming platform The Sandbox announced a collaboration with French Video game company Ubisoft to allocate metaverse land to the gaming giant company.
Ubisoft is one of the leading industries in the gaming space that have launched a set of popular games including Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, Tom Clancy’s, Prince of Persia, Rabbids, and Rayman.
As per the announcement, Ubisoft will initiate metaverse with the voxelized versions of Rabbids’ characters from Rayman.
The Sandbox says the project has “strategically partnered with Ubisoft to introduce Ubisoft game IP elements to The Sandbox gaming metaverse.”
Since the launch of the Rayman, Rabbids characters were among the favorites of many video game players. as IGN said in 2006 that the game is “engaging and addictive and the title’s sense of humor is in a league of its own.”
Ubisoft has already fallen into non-fungible tokens in the last few months. Last year, Aleph.im provided the storage for dynamic NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) on Ubisoft Quartz.
On the Sandbox metaverse, Ubisoft will build an entertainment zone that will provide an interactive experience to users.
Guillaume Mammi, Ubisoft’s senior manager of new business and partnerships, said “We’re excited to bring the Rabbids to The Sandbox community and to empower players to create their own original experiences incorporating elements of our gaming IP. We can’t wait to see how they make the Rabbids’ world their own,” Mammi said.
The Ubisoft executive added, “The Sandbox is an obvious new fun playground addition to the long list of Rabbids world invasions, and a great opportunity for Ubisoft to experiment a metaverse experience for its brands.”
