Netflix has announced that it will tell the real story of “the biggest criminal financial crime case in history” w.r.t cryptocurrency through the visualization of director Chris Smith and Nick Bilton.
The alleged criminals, Ilya “Dutch” Lichtenstein and Heather Morgan (who also goes by the stage name Razzlekhan) were arrested for conspiring to launder nearly 119,754 bitcoins, which is now worth around $4.5 billion.
The stolen crypto assets were worth around $71 million at the time, making the Department of Justice’s $3.6 billion recoveries the “largest financial seizure ever.” The whole scandal is horrifyingly interesting.
About the creators: Chris Smith, best known for his work on “FYRE: The Greatest Party That Never Happened” and “Tiger King,” will direct and executive produce the Bitfinex documentary series.
Nick Bilton, best known for his work on “Fake Famous,” “The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley,” and “American Kingpin: The Epic Hunt for the Criminal Mastermind Behind the Silk Road,” will executive produce the aforesaid series.
