Crypto exchange FTX is getting ready to enter the fashion world. FTX creates a new position ‘Head of Global Luxury Partnerships’ by hiring Lauren Remington Platt model-turned-fashion and beauty entrepreneur.
As the Head of Global Luxury Partnerships, FTX, Platt will be in charge of bringing onboard luxury brands that have yet to integrate cryptocurrency, hoping to capitalize on the $300 billion above luxury goods market.
She remarked that the majority of women are missing out on the most important opportunity of wealth creation as only 9% of them believe they understand crypto.
Platt is the founder of Vensette, an on-demand beauty company where she launched partnerships with brands such as Michael Kors, Vogue, and Saks Fifth Avenue to bring pre-vetted makeup and hair experiences to professionals.
On this move, FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried said, “Her [Platt] wealth of experience in the fashion and luxury space will be essential for the next phase of growth of our team’s partnership and branding focus.”
Earlier, FTX had signed long-term partnerships with supermodel Gisele Bündchen and her husband, football star Tom Brady that marked a deeper move into fashion and beauty.
FTX has been rapidly expanding and signing sponsorship deals. It entered into the gaming industry too. Recently, FTX revealed a “crypto-as-a-service” gaming platform to allow the company to launch tokens and offer NFT support.
