The CEO of AMC Entertainment, an U.S-based Theatre company, Adam Aron revealed that the company will start accepting payments in two popular cryptocurrencies, dogecoin, and Shiba Inu from this month.
The Entertainment Company is currently holding up 950 theatres with 10,500 screens across the U.S, Europe, and the world.
AMC Theatres will accept crypto payment through using Bitpay, which is a crypto payment service known for its Bitcoin payments. As per the IT department of AMC, the company will start to accept Doge and SHIB from March 19 on the website and on the company’s mobile apps by April 16 or a few days before that.
The CEO already revealed last year that the company would accept Doge and SHIB after posting a poll about dogecoin and Shiba Inu.
Aron was in touch with Bitpay last year to convince the platform to add Shiba Inu to its payment currency option. Also, the platform will become the first client of Bitpay to accept SHIB.
AMC Theatres chain already has been in the crypto space since last year, when it allowed consumers to buy digital gift cards using Dogecoin (DOGE). Also, recently the company has given free NFTs to advance ticket buyers for “SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME”.
