The legendary rapper alias of Cozomo de’ Medici, Snoop Dogg is releasing a mixtape NFT collection and EDM NFT collection on OpenSea for the first time. You heard it right!
In Brief:
- Death Row EDM Vol. 1 collection consists of an instrumental and a full song, available on OpenSea.
- Dogg on it: Death Row Mixtape Vol. 1 collection includes the whole package with instrumental, acapella, hooks, and beat separately traded.
After marking his new ownership of Death Row Records, Snoop Dogg had released his nineteenth studio album Bacc on Death Row (B.O.D.R) in collaboration with Gala Games ahead of his slot at the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
Snoop Dogg had stated that he plans to relaunch Death Row Records as “an NFT label.”
The rapper had dropped in on a fan Clubhouse room for a quick chat. Explaining his plans for the label, he said: “Death Row will be an NFT label. We will be putting out artists through the metaverse. Just like we broke the industry when we [were] the first independent [label] to be major, I want to be the first major [label] in the metaverse”.
Seems like he is onto his mission to finally let us know what exactly does he mean by an NFT label.
Today, the Doggfather announced in a Twitter thread, the release of his EDM NFT collection produced by Mutant Ape #23446 on OpenSea called “Death Row EDM Vol. 1”.
Under the Death Row NFT brand, the collection has an instrumental and a full song by Snoop Dogg ft. October London. While writing, its floor price remained 0.065 ETH with 30 ETH volume traded.
The Mutant Ape Yacht Club NFT #23446 owned by Snoop Dogg aka “DEATHROWNFT” has a Gray background, with the ape wearing a pimp coat and an M1 Vietnam Era Helmet, holding a Bored Cigar in his mouth with its usual Bored eyes.
Along with it, he dropped an NFT mixtape for the first time under the same brand, called “Dogg on it: Death Row Mixtape Vol. 1”.
The collection contains an instrumental, acapella, hooks and beat, and full song. Its floor price is at 0.24 ETH with an average trading volume of 179 ETH while writing.
The Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT #6723 contains Bored eyes ape holding the same old Bored Cigar. His Cheetah fur and Pimp Coat is accompanied by a Vietnam Era Hat.
Both of the above releases will give collectors the right to own the music and create their own track, basically doing whatever they want after they own it.
Snoop has already proven that he can make money selling music NFTs, having made $45 million from a collection of 25,000 “stash boxes” NFTs in six days, each costing around $5000. Each stash box contains one of the album’s seventeen tracks, and anyone who collects all seventeen will receive additional bonuses.
