Indian IT services company Tech Mahindra Ltd. announced the launch of TechMVerse, its Metaverse practice, which will enable its customers to create immersive experiences and transact in the Metaverse.
Tech Mahindra’s investment in the 5G network will serve as the backbone for providing customers with an enhanced experience in the metaverse universe.

Tech Mahindra is launching a Metaverse practice, in which the IT firm will use its network and infrastructure, as well as technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, 5G, Augmented Reality (AR), Virtupal Reality (VR), and Quantum Computing, to build B2B use cases across industries.
Initially, it will capitalize on Metaverse opportunities through a variety of use cases, including ‘DealerVerse’ car dealership, ‘Middlemist’ NFT marketplace, and Meta Bank – a virtual bank and gaming center.
TechMVerse will offer digital and professional experience services in the areas of design and content, as well as low-code plug-and-play NFT and Blockchain platforms. Not just that, Tech Mahindra plans to align the metaverse strategy with its ESG goals – Environmental, Social & Governance.

Tech Mahindra has also collaborated with Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. to offer exclusive Digital Collectibles, beginning with a series based on one of the latter’s most iconic brands (not confirmed which one). These collectibles will be listed, minted, and sold on Tech Mahindra’s NFT marketplace platform, Middlemist.
At the launch, CP Gurnani, MD & CEO, Tech Mahindra, said, “Our entry into the Metaverse is yet another milestone in our journey of catalyzing future readiness and disrupting and transforming customer experiences.”
Regarding hiring plans, he stated that seven different competencies, each with a distinct flavor, are required for the projects, he said, “Approximately 50% will be existing (Tech Mahindra employees) and 50% may have to be hired from outside. You still need to train them in delivering a Metaverse project.”
“Of the four labs in Dallas, London, Hyderabad, and Pune that will contribute to various facets of the project, the facility here will host 500-600 people in the immediate future and hopefully become much bigger in the future,” he added.
TechMVerse is expected to be a continuation of Tech Mahindra’s NXT.NOW framework, which aims to improve human-centric experiences by investing in emerging technologies that enable digital transformation.
