Amid the ongoing intense war with Russia, the Ukrainian government has just confirmed the news of an Airdrop to appreciate crypto donors with rewards for aiding the country in a tough time.
However, it is not clear yet what people will get in Airdrop. But, most crypto intellectuals affirmed that it would be non-fungible tokens (NFTs) by citing its boom over the market.
To prepare a whitelist, the government will take snapshots on March 3 at 6 PM (UTC/GMT). Also, the Twitter handle mentioned Mykhailo Fedorov, the Ukrainian first Vice Prime Minister to get more updates about the crypto donation campaign.
Now the battle with Russian aggressors is going to enter in the second week and both sides have reportedly seen immense bloodshed and suffered huge casualties in lives, infrastructure, and resources.
People across the globe are favoring the Ukrainian government to defend their legacy and freedom from attackers, as the first military offense was launched by the Russian regime on Feb 24.
Many individuals, Nations, and organizations have been coming forward to raise support through numerous relief funds, donations, and campaigns. Among these, crypto donors are also included.
The Ukrainian government also urged donations in cryptocurrencies including BTC, ETH, and USDT, which is now getting an immersive response. As per our early report, the government and an NGO collectively received over 18.9 million donations in crypto.
After watching the potential of crypto donations, the government has decided to add other cryptocurrencies for donations. Yesterday, the Ukrainian government’s official Twitter handle shared a Polkadot’s address to accept donations in DOT tokens.
Also, they stated that “More cryptocurrencies to be accepted soon”.
Polkadot’s founder Gavin Wood also has also obeyed his promise made to the public and donated a whopping $5.8 million worth of DOT tokens, which was appreciated by the Ukrainian government.
