A well-known cyber hacking group, Anonymous, has offered Bitcoin to Russian troops in exchange for their tanks. For each surrendered military vehicle, the organization would pay more than £39,000 ($52,000) in bitcoin.
Despite avoiding direct military conflict with Russian forces in Ukraine, the “great powers” have launched an economic attack against Russia.
In an attempt to weaken Russian forces, the notorious hacker community claims to have accumulated more than RUB 1 billion (approximately £7.8 million i.e; $10.5 million). They did this in just two days by launching cyber-attacks against Russia. The group broke into over 300 Russian targets.
“Russian soldiers, everyone who wants to live with their families, children, and not die, the Anonymous global community has collected RUB 1,225,043 in bitcoin to help you,” Anonymous allegedly tells them.
The deal asked to make is simply Anonymous offering tank crews approximately $52,000 (£39,000) in bitcoin for each surrendered battle tank machine.
Those wishing to exchange such vehicles for cryptocurrency must display a white flag and use the password “million” in order for the hacking group to identify them.
Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense has also reportedly stated that surrendering forces will be granted amnesty.
Anonymous declared war on Vladimir Putin. If Putin does not stop invading Ukraine, the group has threatened him with “unprecedented cyberattacks from all over the world.”
The news of the invasion has affected lives and the economy as well. After Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a “special military operation” in the Donbas region to complete the “demilitarization” of Ukraine, the crypto market saw a bloodbath as the crisis worsened.
