The metaverse gaming platform, Sandbox, announced a new deal with NFT profile picture project World of Women (WOW) to encourage and empower women in the NFT space on International Women’s day.
The Sandbox revealed a partnership with World of Women and announced a $25 million grant to WoW foundation to enhance Women’s contribution to decentralized web space.
WoW is set to launch the WoW foundation to “bring more women and diversity of thought into the NFT and metaverse space”. The aim of the mission is to provide mentorship and funding to creators for their first mint to the first sale in the metaverse.
The 5 years long partnership will focus on 4 main pillars:
- uplifting the ecosystem by supporting artists and funding projects;
- educating newcomers;
- communicating to give more visibility to women-centric causes, while inspiring others;
- giving back to charities.
Apart from the main mission, The Sandbox and WoW will work closely to encourage women’s participation in the metaverse through a series of interactive experiences.
The fund will also be used to grow the business opportunities around The Sandbox, Animoca Brands, and Brinc.
To achieve the mission, the fund will be used in different projects, which include 10,000 World of Women 3D avatars during the Alpha 2 launch, WoW museum on 2×2 Sandbox land, WoW university, and WoW academy.
“We have great projects ahead, and are looking forward to achieving them with our community in The Sandbox,” said Yam Karkai, Co-founder & Artist of World of Women.
